Farm Chicks Antique Show
Although we’ve attended the show as shoppers since the show’s inception, it’s our first year as vendors at the show.
And there’s a ticket giveaway happening right now!! Check out Serena Thompson’s page here to enter your name for free tickets.
I made a runner yesterday out of some old burlap I found at Roost downtown. I have a ton of old curtains, vintage fabric and ephemera that I’ve been trying to use up. So I tore pieces of this silky fabric and made a huge ruffle to go on both sides of the runner. Then I did an image transfer of old French typography I found at the Graphics Fairy blog.
I think it turned out pretty well. Burlap is not the easiest fabric to work with since the weave is so loose but I used the iron to press the edgings before I stitched them down.
Dawn has been super busy crafting beautimous (yes, I said beautimous) new birds. We got together during Spring Break to shop and laugh and shop some more. We covered a lot of ground one day … we were at Orphaned Decor, Pink, Roost and several other Spokane vintage venues! I picked up some board game boards to use for decorating a den or game room. I also picked up some vintage hat boxes … one of them a Stetson box … several antique frames, some 50s patterns, bunches and bunches of vintage sheet music. Although it’s getting harder to find – it’s always fun to look.
We ended the week at Silver Mountain Resort in Kellogg, ID and drove further up the road to Wallace after getting more than our fair share of fun at the waterpark. I took this photo in Wallace near a shopping area. Apparently they’re big into recycle/repurpose/redragon!
